Bree

Q) Thanks for doing this interview, Bree. How did you get so buff?!?!

A) I would say it was a lot of work, but actually it has been all fun and no work! I love lifting heavy and love doing challenging cardio. I burned out on gymnastics. I didn't like the competition aspect and started to get real anxiety with it. Plus as I got older I started to see other girls doing things that I knew I could not do. I don't hold myself to a specific, torturous diet and basically I do what I want to in the gym. I started Tough Mudder and and Spartan-Type comps that I could find and that's a ton of fun. I do the best I can, I am not the best but that's fine.

Q) Can you give us any numbers like height, weights, best lifts, measurements, etc?

A) I always do everything I can in pictures to look taller than I am! I am pretty short, 5'1 1/2". I weigh around the 140 mark. I have benched 185, done 325 pound squats and 385 deadlifts. My arms are big but my legs are not as big as maybe you would expect. I don't mean to brag, but both arms and legs are really hard.

Q) What is the reaction that you get from men in terms of your muscles?

A) Oh, they love it. I have had some friends tell me that other people whispered that I am too buff or not feminine, but honestly I have never heard anyone say that. Part of it may be that I am so short and absolutely nothing about me in masculine. Maybe if I was like 5'9" and have the muscles I do people might feel intimidated or make those comments. I don't have a shortage of men approaching me. I won't say they are all my type, but men do hit on me.

Q) Are you stronger than any guys you know? How does that feel?

A) Actually my legs are stronger than most any guy and my arms are stronger than a lot. I am also in such good cardio shape that I can run away from danger if need be. I kind of like it when guys as me to flex and are impressed with my girly muscles. I'm not into any fighting or anything so other than sometimes lifting more than guys I don't really "beat them" at anything.

Q) Do you date guys who work out?

A) Usually, yes. At least that do some kind of sports. I don't think other guys would want to date me. People sort of gravitate to others with similar interests. Plus I find my own muscles attractive, so I will of course also find male muscles attractive.

Q) Would you ever date a man that is not as strong as you are?

A) He would be at a distinct disadvantage. I would not say it's impossible. If we really connect and he comes off strong (even if he isn't) I could see it happening. There is nothing that absolutely prevents me from dating a man that can't lift what I do. Actually, with my legs absolutely no issue because I am sure I HAVE dated men that can't lift what I can.

Q) What advice do you have for women who want to lift and do lift?

A) Have fun and be safe! Do what YOU enjoy. You won't get bulky or nasty looking or anything. Men really do like a strong woman because you begin to give off a really cool, confident vibe. Hit the weights, yes the heavy ones and not only will you be more confident, you will be more sexy. Get a great trainer, hopefully a female and stay motivated! Nothing feels as great as exhaustion.

Q) What advice do you have for men about approaching strong, muscular women?

A) Well, a woman is not just what's on the outside. If your focus is on her chest, muscles, legs, butt, whatever, it won't work. Even if one of those things is what drew you to her, a couple or few questions about it won't get her interested. It will drive her away. I have had men focus too much on my "guns" or some nonsense like that.

Q) What is your best body part? What draws the most male attention?

A) Oh, shoulders and biceps. I am really lucky and I think my gymnastics helped with this. I built strong shoulders and have nice biceps. Women can workout forever and not develop this. Even in regular clothes, people can see that I am fit because the way that clothes fit on my shoulders. I have no idea what men actually notice the most. I am pretty short so in one glance they can basically see it all!
